Why is listening important? What is listening? Why is it important? ( (শ্রবণ কি? ইহার গুরুত্ব কেন?) What is listening? What is the importance of listening? (শ্রবণ কি? শ্রবণের গুরুত্ব কি?)

Ans:
Listening means listening to something attentively with understanding to respond. It is the first step of learning a language. Without listening no one can learn a language. For this reason, listening is treated as the most important skill of learning a language.
Listening is a channel of learning. It is a common observation that the best way to learn a language is to go to the country where it is spoken or to live with the people who spoke it. But if the learner is dumb and deaf, he cannot listen to the native speaker. So he fails totally to learn the language.
Listening is a means of communication because most speaking situations require listening. We cannot, for example, participate in a conversation unless we can understand what the other person is saying to us. A good listener can be a good speaker too. If someone asks us a question, we must listen to him. Otherwise, we cannot respond to his query. So listening is a very important skill in learning a language.
